Meet the Vets


Richard Newing BVetMed MRCVS

Richard is the practice partner. He graduated in 1989 and has worked at Four Crosses since 1991. He is married to Jo (who also works at the practice in the office) and has 3 children, a collie cross, bichon frise, ginger cat, several sheep and 2 horses.

 

Helen Yeates BVetMed CertVBM MRCVS

Helen graduated in 2009 and started working at Four Crosses shortly after. Although originally from Somerset she has settled into life in Wales. In her spare time she enjoys waterskiing, rugby and snowboarding. She has a yellow Labrador called Sage who you will often see looking after the office!

 

Geoffrey Christensen BVSc BSc BSc MRCVS

Geoffrey is a larger than life character from Philadelphia, USA. He joined the practice in December 2014, he has been qualified for 14 years and has spent time working in mixed practices in Wales. He is married and has 2 young boys. His family also includes 2 Yorkshire terriers, 2 ginger cats, 1 turtle, 1 snake, tropical fish and a goldfish koi pond. He particularly enjoys small animal and exotic work.

 

Ben Gill VetMB BA MRCVS

Ben joined the practice in September 2017. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2015 then worked in mixed practice in Knighton for two years. He grew up in Newtown and has grandparents in Welshpool so has gradually been moving closer to home since university. In his spare time he is an active member of Welshpool Community Church and enjoys exploring the countryside with friends and family. 

 

Lauren Kinney BVSc MRCVS

Lauren joined us in October 2016 after graduating from Liverpool University. Her main interest is in farm animal work, particularly fertility and transition cow management. In her spare time she enjoys socialising, keeping fit and walking her black labrador, Guinness. 

 

Liz Dawson BVetMed MRCVS

Liz started working at Four Crosses about 30 years ago (eek!). Since then she has got married, had 2 children, several dogs, some buffalo at one point and now breeds grey faced Dartmoor sheep which she successfully shows. Liz works part time and we greatly appreciate her experience.
