Meet the Vets

Richard Newing BVetMed MRCVS

Richard is the practice partner. He graduated in 1989 and has worked at Four Crosses since 1991. He is married to Jo (who also works at the practice in the office) and has 3 children, a collie cross, bichon frise, ginger cat, several sheep and 2 horses.


Helen Yeates BVetMed PGCertVBM MRCVS

Helen graduated in 2009 and started working at Four Crosses shortly after. Although originally from Somerset she has settled into life in Wales. She enjoys all aspects of mixed practice, from cattle and sheep to cats and dogs. In her spare time she enjoys waterskiing, rugby, snowboarding and mountain biking. She has a yellow Labrador called Sage who you will often see looking after the office, and two chickens - Belle and Emma.



Ben joined the practice in September 2017. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2015 then worked in mixed practice in Knighton for two years. He grew up in Newtown and has grandparents in Welshpool so has gradually been moving closer to home since university. In his spare time he is an active member of Welshpool Community Church and enjoys exploring the countryside with friends and family. 


Dr Mahesh Bhatt BVSc MRCVS

Mahesh joined the practice in July 2018. He graduated from Bristol University in 2017 and spent 5 months travelling around Asia, working at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand and an animal rescue shelter in India. He is from West Bromwich and in his spare time enjoys playing football and going to the gym. He worked in Lincoln prior to moving to Four Crosses. He is particularly interested in working with wildlife and seeing the more unusual creatures that visit here!

Dr Becca Green BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVS

Becca joined the practice in July 2018 having graduated from Nottingham Vet School. She had previously studied a Biology degree in Edinburgh and before joining us she worked for a charity in Sri Lanka neutering stray dogs and cats. She is originally from Surrey but is very excited to explore and get to know the area with her new rescue dog Maisy. Becca loves to be outdoors walking, running or sailing, but also enjoys playing the viola and baking in her spare time.


Ella Jones BVSc MRCVS

Ella joined the practice in September 2018 after spending the Summer travelling in Tanzania and South East Asia. She graduated from Liverpool University in July 2018 and is reasonably local, from Mold. Ella enjoys clay pigeon shooting (and the odd day beating), horse riding, meeting friends for good food and travelling.
